Forum Member (Following a free, open online lecture I gave in 2012):
Well, Jon gave us a lot to think about yesterday. Two things in particular were very clear to me. First, that we all seemed to find a lot of common ground in our own pre–dystonia experiences and in how we deal with our symptoms. I saw lots of heads nodding in agreement as Jon spoke. Another Forum Member said quite eloquently (and with some emotion) that “you described my life exactly”, and I think we all felt that way. The second point was this: His recovery was primarily based on a conscious shift in ATTITUDE. At a certain point he was able to observe how attitude and negative associations with playing and practicing affected his dystonia. And he took the necessary steps to change them. He seems to prove that in terms of TSFD, you are what you “think”.

JG:
Well put!
